Willow Road Work – Delays Anticipated

July 11 to July 25, 2014

  •  Central Road Intersection.  Lane closures and delays will continue at the Central Avenue intersection until Saturday, July 26th.  The lane configuration will be adjusted to shift the traffic to the newly constructed pavement on the outside of the intersection so the middle lanes can be built.  During this time there will only be one southbound and one northbound lane.  This is a further reduction in the number of lanes and extensive delays are anticipated.  Motorists are urged to use alternate routes or plan for long delays.
  •  Sunset Ridge IntersectionThe south leg of the Sunset Ridge Road intersection is planned to be closed starting on July 21st for a three week period.  The planned detour route and notice will be posted as soon as soon as it is available.
  • Waukegan to Sunset Ridge.  The pavement on the southern lane will be installed this next week followed by the curb and gutter and then electrical work.
  • Sunset Ridge to Chapel Hill.  The contractor will be finishing the installation of the storm sewer and then will begin the earthwork and installation of subgrade material.
  • Chapel Hill to the River.  The contractor will be finishing up back filling the curbs and will then start installing sidewalks.
  • Bridge.  The contractor will be finishing the sidewalk, parapet, pilasters, and then installing the pedestrian railing.
  • River to the Eden’s.  The contractor will finish the drainage and grading and start the pavement installation followed by curb and gutter.

The planned operations involve lane closures at Central Avenue and Sunset Ridge Road.  Substantial delays and detours are anticipated.  Motorists are urged to use alternate routes or to allow additional time.
